Abuse comes in different forms; there is sexual abuse, physical abuse and mental abuse. It can happen to anyone and its victims do not have a certain look or social status.
Ms. Williams is a woman that was sexually abused at a young age, and left to carry the burden of this ghastly act. Her life spiraled downhill as a teenager; she became severely depressed, and turned to smoking pot and drinking heavily, trying hard to bury the inner turmoil that was deep inside.
She made several suicide attempts and started indulging in self-destructive behavior, which included domestic violence and selling crack cocaine on the streets of Richmond, Virginia. It wasn’t long before she finally hit rock bottom; she caught eight charges on a federal indictment, lost her kids and went to prison.
With no one to turn to, and the closest people around her, turning into federal informants, she must figure out a way to use her strength to keep her sanity, and find a way out of the pit that her reckless behavior had dropped her in.
Shattered Soul: A Memoir is a real-life story of abuse, and full of trials and tribulations. It tells the story of a woman who is displaying her life openly, honestly, and showing great courage and strength. She is sharing her triumphs of coming home from prison, picking up the pieces of her shattered soul, changing her life and going back to college to get a degree in psychology.
